{"id":5093,"date":"2026-03-16T10:51:24","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T09:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esclerosismultiplegalicia.org\/?p=5093"},"modified":"2026-03-16T12:23:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T11:23:09","slug":"unha-mutacion-xenetica-dos-yaks-poderia-axudar-a-reparar-o-dano-nervioso-na-esclerose-multiple","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esclerosismultiplegalicia.org\/index.php\/2026\/03\/16\/unha-mutacion-xenetica-dos-yaks-poderia-axudar-a-reparar-o-dano-nervioso-na-esclerose-multiple\/","title":{"rendered":"Unha mutaci\u00f3n xen\u00e9tica dos yaks poder\u00eda axudar a reparar o dano nervioso na Esclerose M\u00faltiple"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n da <strong>Universidade Jiao Tong<\/strong> de Shangh\u00e1i identificou un mecanismo biol\u00f3xico que poder\u00eda contribu\u00edr \u00e1 reparaci\u00f3n do dano nervioso en enfermidades como a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/esclerosismultiplegalicia.org\/index.php\/que-e-a-em\/\">Esclerosis M\u00faltiple (EM)<\/a><\/strong> ou a par\u00e1lise cerebral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O descubrimento foi publicado na revista cient\u00edfica <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cell.com\/neuron\/fulltext\/S0896-6273(26)00013-9\">Neuron <\/a>e bas\u00e9ase nunha observaci\u00f3n sorprendente: <strong>unha mutaci\u00f3n xen\u00e9tica presente en animais adaptados a vivir a gran altitude poder\u00eda favorecer a rexeneraci\u00f3n da mielina<\/strong>, a capa que protexe os nervios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A investigaci\u00f3n abre unha li\u00f1a moi prometedora dentro da investigaci\u00f3n da EM: <strong>aproveitar mol\u00e9culas naturais xa presentes no corpo humano para favorecer a reparaci\u00f3n do sistema nervioso<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Que ten que ver vivir en altitude co sistema nervioso<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Alg\u00fans animais que viven en zonas de gran altitude, como os yaks ou os ant\u00edlopes tibetanos, sobreviven en ambientes con <strong>baixos niveis de os\u00edxeno<\/strong> durante toda a s\u00faa vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A media da altitude na meseta tibetana supera os <strong>4.500 metros<\/strong>, unha condici\u00f3n extrema para o organismo. Para adaptarse, estes animais desenvolveron <strong>cambios xen\u00e9ticos ao longo da s\u00faa evoluci\u00f3n<\/strong> que lles permiten manter o funcionamento do cerebro a pesar da falta de os\u00edxeno. Unha destas mutaci\u00f3ns d\u00e1se nun xen chamado <strong>Ratsat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Segundo explica o investigador <strong>Liang Zhang<\/strong>, autor principal do estudo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;A evoluci\u00f3n \u00e9 un gran agasallo da natureza, que proporciona unha rica diversidade de xens que axudan aos organismos a adaptarse a diferentes contornas (&#8230;) A\u00ednda queda moito por aprender das adaptaci\u00f3ns xen\u00e9ticas naturais&#8221;. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>As persoas encargadas da investigaci\u00f3n pregunt\u00e1ronse ent\u00f3n se <strong>esa mutaci\u00f3n poder\u00eda ter tam\u00e9n efectos protectores sobre os nervios<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Que \u00e9 a mielina e por que \u00e9 tan importante<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Para entender o descubrimento, primeiro hai que explicar un concepto importante: <strong>a mielina<\/strong>. A <strong>va\u00ed\u00f1a de mielina<\/strong> \u00e9 unha capa protectora que arrodea as fibras nerviosas do cerebro e da m\u00e9dula espi\u00f1al.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A s\u00faa funci\u00f3n principal \u00e9:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Protexer os nervios<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Permitir que os sinais nerviosos viaxen m\u00e1is r\u00e1pido<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Garantir unha comunicaci\u00f3n eficiente entre as neuronas<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00f3dese comparar coa <strong>cuberta dun cable el\u00e9ctrico<\/strong>: sen esa protecci\u00f3n, o sinal p\u00e9rdese ou transm\u00edtese mal. Cando a mielina se dana, aparecen problemas neurol\u00f3xicos. Por exemplo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Na Esclerose M\u00faltiple o sistema inmunitario <strong>ataca por erro a mielina<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Na par\u00e1lise cerebral o dano pode producirse durante o desenvolvemento cerebral debido \u00e1 <strong>falta de os\u00edxeno<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>En persoas maiores, a diminuci\u00f3n do fluxo sangu\u00edneo cerebral pode contribu\u00edr \u00e1 <strong>demencia vascular<\/strong> ou \u00e1 enfermidade dos vasos cerebrais pequenos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O experimento: simulando condici\u00f3ns de gran altitude<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Para comprobar o papel da mutaci\u00f3n no xen <strong>Retsat<\/strong>, o persoal da investigaci\u00f3n realizou experimentos con ratos. Os ratos rec\u00e9n nacidos foron expostos a condici\u00f3ns de <strong>baixo os\u00edxeno<\/strong>, equivalentes a vivir a m\u00e1is de <strong>4.000 metros de altitude<\/strong>, durante aproximadamente unha semana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Os ratos que ti\u00f1an <strong>a mutaci\u00f3n do xen Retsat<\/strong> mostraron mellores resultados en probas de aprendizaxe, mellor memoria e mellor comportamento social. Ademais, as an\u00e1lises cerebrais mostraron que ti\u00f1an m\u00e1is <strong>mielina arredor das fibras nerviosas. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pode esta mutaci\u00f3n reparar o dano na mielina?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>O seguinte paso foi comprobar se a mutaci\u00f3n pod\u00eda <strong>axudar a reparar danos similares aos que aparecen na EM<\/strong>. Os resultados volveron ser prometedores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nos ratos con esta mutaci\u00f3n, a mielina rexener\u00e1base m\u00e1is r\u00e1pido e a reparaci\u00f3n era m\u00e1is completa, ademais de que aparec\u00edan m\u00e1is oligodendrocitos maduros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Os <strong>oligodendrocitos <\/strong>son c\u00e9lulas do sistema nervioso central encargadas de producir mielina. Cando estas c\u00e9lulas funcionan correctamente, cre\u00e1se nova mielina e os nervios poden recuperar parte da s\u00faa funci\u00f3n. Por iso, <strong>estimular a maduraci\u00f3n destas c\u00e9lulas pode ser un dos grandes obxectivos<\/strong> da investigaci\u00f3n na Esclerose M\u00faltiple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A clave poder\u00eda estar nun derivado da vitamina A<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>O equipo identificou outro elemento importante: un <strong>metabolito chamado<\/strong> <strong>ATDR<\/strong>, derivado da <strong>vitamina A<\/strong>. Esta \u00e9 unha mol\u00e9cula que o corpo produce ao transformar a vitamina A mediante reacci\u00f3ns qu\u00edmicas enzim\u00e1ticas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nos ratos con mutaci\u00f3n no xen Retsat observouse que <strong>produc\u00edan m\u00e1is ATDR no cerebro<\/strong>, composto que favorece a produci\u00f3n e maduraci\u00f3n dos oligodendrocitos, axudando a unha mellor rexeneraci\u00f3n da mielina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para comprobar o efecto, o persoal investigador administrou <strong>ATDR a ratos cunha enfermidade similar \u00e1 EM<\/strong>. Como resultado, a gravidade da enfermidade diminu\u00edu e os animais mostraron unha mellora na funci\u00f3n motora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Que implica este descubrimento para a EM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Actualmente, a maior\u00eda dos tratamentos para a Esclerose M\u00faltiple c\u00e9ntranse en <strong>reducir ou modular a actividade do sistema inmunitario<\/strong> para evitar novos ataques contra a mielina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este estudo apunta a outro enfoque complementario: <strong>estimular a reparaci\u00f3n da mielina danada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ademais, ten unha vantaxe potencial importante. A mol\u00e9cula implicada (<strong>ATDR<\/strong>) <strong>xa est\u00e1 presente no organismo humano<\/strong>, polo que no futuro poder\u00eda explorarse como base para novos tratamentos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Iso non significa que exista xa unha terapia dispo\u00f1ible. A investigaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 a\u00ednda en fases iniciais e <strong>os resultados proceden de estudos en animais<\/strong>, polo que ser\u00e1 necesario confirmar estes efectos en persoas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unha li\u00f1a de investigaci\u00f3n que mira \u00e1 natureza<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Este traballo \u00e9 unha mostra das novas ideas presentes na investigaci\u00f3n biom\u00e9dica, que se centran en estudar as <strong>adaptaci\u00f3ns evolutivas como fontes de informaci\u00f3n valiosas para a medicina.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estudar como certos animais sobreviven en condici\u00f3ns extremas (como a falta de os\u00edxeno en altitude) pode revelar <strong>mecanismos naturais capaces de protexer ou reparar o sistema nervioso<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se estas v\u00edas se confirman en estudos futuros, poder\u00edan contribu\u00edr ao desenvolvemento de <strong>novas estratexias terap\u00e9uticas para enfermidades
